Welcome,I thought I’d start off by telling you how I started twirling paper.

I started quilling in the year 2000 with a kit that my mother had given me in 1974. I carried the kit around – un-touched by my perfectionists hands – as I moved from place to place and finally decided to either learn it or give it away. So I sat down and started quilling using the directions from a book that came with the kit. The paper was old, rough and thick, not at all like the smooth, thin paper of today. It didn’t take long for me to be hooked.

Since I was self taught, I was so excited when I found out about NAQG that I went to their second official convention. It was fabulous! I had such a good time and saw such great quilling that I couldn’t wait for the next year’s event. Finally in 2005 I hosted one of the conventions myself. What an event. I had such fun putting it together and seeing it all come about.

The conventions are now called NAQGCon and I highly recommend attending if you can. The work shared is so inspirational and of such talent.

In 2003 I took some time to do some teaching. I enjoy passing on new ideas and information to others.

I am lucky enough to be married to a professional photographer and so the pictures make my work look even better. I hope you enjoy going through my Galleries and get inspiration there, but please be sure to make your own designs and not copy mine.

Enjoy,
Rhonda.

There are times when I want to branch out into other mediums and those I have put here.  I really enjoyed painting these little plaster Christmas ornaments.  Picking different colors and paint types as fun.   I also got a wild hair and tried something I saw in a book.  I took shredded paper from …

Misc_Quilling

This category contains anything that didn’t neatly fit into the other categories.   Most are my designs, however, some are from classes and books as I learned how to do quilling.  The medium varies from small refrigerator magnets, straw hats, to window sun catchers to small mirrors, free standing and even some trials with resign …

Mobiles

The mobiles are very popular.  I started with a plain top then changed to a partially quilled top.  The blue angels were created for a NAQG competition and I’m proud to say it took 3rd Place.  I had fun creating the humming birds, dragonflies, cats and angels to create into mobiles.  They are about 12 …
